dependent – noun –

co-dependant – adjective –
is when each person involved is mentally, emotionally, physically, and/or spiritually reliant on the other.

How does a cooperative dependency end up sounding so… toxic?

Oh, right… people are not supposed to need each other. We are supposed to be 100% independent – or the OPPOSITE of co-dependent, COUNTERDEPENDENCY: is the state of refusal of attachment, the denial of personal need and dependency.
