The Art of Doing Nothing (and Failing at It)

I’ve recently decided to master the noble art of doing nothing. Unfortunately, it turns out I’m terrible at it.

Every time I sit down to β€œrelax,” I remember a dozen things I should be doing. Suddenly, my brain decides it’s the perfect time to remind me of that email I never replied to in 2019. Doing nothing is exhausting (ADHD).

Even when I do manage to stare blankly at a wall, people assume I’m β€œdeep in thought.” No, I’m just considering if I should get up and check if the fridge still contains the same food it did ten minutes ago. Spoiler: it does.

At this point, I’ve accepted that my version of rest is pacing around like a malfunctioning Roomba. It’s not glamorous, but at least it’s efficient.
