Living as a musician for many years, brought with it a series of weird side effects. One not so weird was listening to music. This β€œlistening to music” would however start to take more and more shape and form. I started at a point in time to work in a studio where listening to music became very important. And not only that, but what equipment were used to listen to music on became also important, and more importantly fascinating. I also was given task in the studio to repair a whole lot of music equipment. I learned how to make things that hadn’t work work. Speakers, wires of different kinds, plugs, amplifiers and tape machines. I opened up, explored, disassembled, tried to fix, assembled, got electrocuted, disassembled again and continued to fix until I had made it work. Until it caught fire and I had to start all over again. It was truly enjoyment.Β

For a while I had a whole room in my house filled with various kinds of more or less functioning music and hi-fi stash. I soldered, I made it work and I really had a lot of fun doing so.Β

Music wasn’t just music for me. It was so much more. It was the whole process from making music, rehearing it, recording it, playing it live and listening to it on various media. The listening in itself became a whole branch of interest and it gave me so much curiosity and excitement. Sometimes I forget that. Maybe I will take up this hobby again, when I have gained more control over my motor skills in my hand?

If I do, ill let you know if I do. Or if I get electrocuted or starts a fire again. Β
