Drive my car

I’m not entirely sure if this can be considered a real hobby or not, but it is still something I have enjoyed doing immensely. Cars have been an interest of mine for pretty much as long as I can remember. I have an older brother that’s very into cars, and I guess some of his interest bled over to me. We would try to determine brands and types of cars when we were out driving and gave points to the person who guessed right first etc. 

As I grew older I got my drivers license, and I think that I drove a car every single day for over two years after that. Driving my car (or just any car, really) became a freedom for me. It granted me a liberty I hadn’t experienced before. I could go where I wanted when I wanted. I Could at times get in the car and just drive for an entire day. The first day after getting my licence, I drove 650km.

Over the years I have had various cars and tried a multitude of different cars. They all fascinates me in some way or another. Even the most “normal” car is something special. They live, they have a soul and they become something special as they grant me the freedom they represent to me. 

These days I drive an electric car. And that is truly a great car. Perhaps not the fastest or the coolest or the most special of cars, but damn isn’t it wonderful still.
