As I stepped out of the door this morning, I felt the vague warmth of the sun. It was pleasant and the light filled me with a comfort. I started thinking about the sun and it fascinating importance to life on earth. Even the creatures living on the very bottom of the ocean in perpetual darkness relies on the sun to some degree. It is nothing more than a simple ball of gas. Hanging out in space. Its distance to us is perfect to give light and enough warmth for us to exist. There is so many parameters that needed to be in place for it all to work. It is humbling and astonishing that our planet orbits this relatively small star at the right distance.
I am not very good at contemplating and comprehending the universe and its magnificence. It is too big for me to take it all in. But sometimes I stop and stare up at the sky or the stars or just realises how things exists in the universe and how everything works the way it does.
I just wanted to share the little thought I had as I watched the light and felt its distant warm this morning. The sun is amazing, and the fact that we all are able to live because of it is even more amazing. The coincidence – though I bet there are people that refuse to call them so – are just too many to fathom. I guess we just have to be grateful for it all and accept that is what it is.
I want to wish you all a lovely day.
