Buddha would say, “Ugly people are ugly because of their karma“. His version of karma was this: karma refers to actions driven by intention (cetanā), a deed done deliberately through body, speech or mind that leads to future consequences. This includes actions, thoughts and emotions.

Think of a chronically angry person, that lives in anger, and has a perpetually vexed look and feel to them. You can see it, not only physically, but sense that inside them there is a low simmering resentfulness waiting to boil over.

This kind of person who has more and more “repulsive” thoughts can for example manifest an accident that gives a mark on the body or face, to symbolise their rage physically. You cannot hide your mind even if you think you can, it is always reflected.

You may think of/about:
〇 Someone you hate or a song you adore.
〇 How life is a gift, how life is suffering.
〇 Regrets or dreams you have for the future.
〇 Your mother/father and how they were full of love or awful.
〇 Politics or you may criticise people for this/that.
〇 Your body, value, health, self-worth, power/position, relationships, status.
〇 Your past and how you were wronged or lucky you are to have developed from those experiences.

IT IS ADDING OR REMOVING SOMETHING FROM YOU OR YOUR HEALTH. It affects the way you look or appear to others. It makes your “vibe”.

Let us take a very repulsing person: they smell vile, are morbidly obese are biologically “ugly” and have a very repulsing voice. All of those are reflecting the person and the content of their mind.

Now please do not think that all beautiful people are saints or that ugly ones are devils, that is not the message. The message is that a repulsive person generates “repulsive” thoughts about themselves or about life in general.

The content of their mind is mostly toxic. Yet they can be amazing people in the context of a relationship (but this is not often the case).

The quote “What matters is the inner beauty” is quite false. Your inner beliefs are reflected. Everything about you and your features reflects something. Every wrinkle, every spot, every detail means something. This includes of course your weight, height, colour, and voice.

Being HEALTHY is being in harmony with yourself. It generates a positive view of yourself (self-image, self-concept) and a positive view of the world in general, others, etc. If you have any health or weight issues or anything related to your body, please take time to see everything you generate in your mind, especially emotions about you and your life. Make sure you become critical about the “stuff” you dwell in your mind because it is reflected.

Here are a few:
〄 Gaining or losing hair
〄 Gaining or losing weight
〄 Full of energy or loss of energy
〄 Clear skin or acne
〄 Soft skin or dry skin problems
〄 Graceful or accident-prone (and if you fall, some get a mild scratch, some break bones)

It all reflects something in your mind and its content. Nothing is random or “by chance”.
